I applied online from the district website career section. I then created a TalentEd account and searched for openings. I liked how the openings were organized by type and by location site (school). The district is spread out more and the site option was nice to see where I could consider traveling to. I then filled out one set of documents and could apply for multiple job openings instead of applying for each one separately. I was also able to go in and change things around, such as the positions I was interested in, as new ones came available. The process was pretty quick after I let my local school know directly that I was apply for a position. I made contact with the principal who put me in contact with their hiring manager at that site. (*VERY IMPORTANT! Let them know who you are and give them a heads up. They are the ones hiring you, reviewing your resume, interview panels, making an offer, and such. HR handles the legal stuff and the pay, but most questions, including pay, are handled at the site itself. *There is even a phone recording when you call HR that tells you this information and to call the school location directly.* I had an interview 2 days later and got an pre-offer that same week. They checked my references *VERY IMPORTANT! You MUST have these ready to go and have professional references*, then I awaited my onboarding info packet from HR. The process moves quicker if you already have your IVP Fingerprint clearance card (if not, you have to set up an appointment and wait for it in the mail which can take a while). You also have to pass a background check. Then you set your appointment with HR to do your onboarding.
