I was contacted by an internal recruiter to see if I was interested in a role. She was shifty with time and difficult to coordinate times to connect but I was flexible and made it work.
When we were scheduled to talk through video chat, she was late (only by a few minutes), but was driving (distracted, noisy background, off camera). She gave me a pitch on the company and asked some traditional interview questions but came across a bit condescending.
I closed and asked for timing and next steps. She gave me a timeframe but never heard from her again.
Two takeaways:
1) the experience was incredibly unprofessional. The recruiter’s treatment of my time was disrespectful and a clear sign of bad company culture (although I don’t know if this extends beyond the recruiter).
2) the absence of a rejection or a thank you for the time I spent with the recruiter demonstrates a disregard/disinterest for people.
Wouldn’t recommend interviewing here until they get their process in order.
