UNPROFESSIONAL! This experience was unprofessional from start to finish.
I was initially contacted about a hybrid role (contract). I clearly stated upfront that I live out of state and would only consider a fully remote position. I was told that would be fine. After 2 calls with recruiters, I was then told the client required someone onsite weekly — exactly what the original job description said and what I had flagged at the beginning.
The same recruiter contacted me again that very day about another opportunity, assuring me remote work would not be an issue this time. I agreed to move forward. What followed was over 4 weeks and 5 interviews, with shifting timelines, changing interviewers, and repeated scheduling outside the availability I had clearly provided.
After investing significant time and energy, communication simply stopped. No update. No rejection. No closure.
I understand that not every process results in an offer. But completely ghosting a candidate after six interviews is unacceptable. If you position yourselves as a professional services firm, your communication practices should reflect that standard.
