The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Los Angeles Times (El Segundo, CA) in Dec 2022
Interview
First the recruiter reaches out at 5pm PST to select and email back a day/time from one of the times listed. The next morning I email back a selected time and get an "out of office until after the New Year.' auto reply. Since it was never confirmed, I rescheduled, once they came back.
During the phone screen, they couldn't answer any questions about the position but grilled me on hypothetical questions and wanted to know my salary range. When I applied it was before the California pay transparency law went into place so I didn't know the range. I said I'd like to learn more about the role first but provided a wide range but he lower end was within their budget. At the end of the call they said they'd be in touch with 'either good or bad news”. A few days later, I logged in to check the application system and was surprised to see 'Not Selected' without receiving any notification on this 'update'. Pretty disappointing and unprofessional experience.
