I went through a lengthy, multi stage interview process with Lounge. While the brand portrays a highly supportive, positive, and people first culture on their social media and marketing channels, the internal reality of their recruitment process is completely different.
The process drags on with constant communication breakdowns. I was repeatedly promised updates by specific dates, only for those deadlines to pass with complete silence, forcing me to chase multiple times. It was draining and difficult to know where I stood in the process. Looking at past feedback, it is clear that this unprofessional ghosting has been an ongoing theme with their recruitment for years. It is incredibly disappointing to see that despite recurring complaints from candidates over a long period of time, absolutely no effort has been made by management to improve the process.
It is also disheartening to see the company actively pushing hiring messages and job ads on LinkedIn for the very roles you are in the pipeline for, yet they claim they don’t have the time to return a basic update email.
These long, drawn out processes where candidates are left completely in the dark seriously play with people's mental health and wellbeing. If a candidate treated deadlines with this much disregard, they would be immediately dismissed.
Lounge really needs to take a hard look at their workplace processes and align their actual candidate treatment with the values they preach online. Future candidates should just proceed with caution.
