      Support Engineer Interview

      19 Aug 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Lumos

      Interview

The hiring manager and director were both easy to chat with and kind. However, the technical portion took a sharp turn when I encountered the interviewer who exhibited all the personality of a stone wall. This position appears designed for disappointment, as crucial hard skills requirements remain mysteriously undisclosed even on the job application. Most concerning was their candid admission that the take-home assignment deliberately included an unsolvable problem, while providing minimal resources for candidates to work with. I recommend revamping your technical interview process and reconsider who conducts it. I have no interest in collaborating with someone incapable of basic conversation or displaying a hint of humor. The position has remained vacant for months, suggesting they have an endless quest for the mythical "Perfect Candidate" 🙄
