I interviewed at Lyric in April and May of 2026. Initially a recruiter reached out to me regarding the role. During our initial conversation I sensed something was off - he seemed disengaged and seemed to be reading off of a script. After discussing my experience, he moved me to the next round, which was a online coding screening with a third party company called Karat. I never interviewed via a third party before, and it felt really strange. Because it wasn't someone with the company it felt very disengaged, and we just walked through some trivia and coding questions.
After that, I was told I passed and got moved to the next round. The recruiter reached out by phone (no warning, email, or message) telling me they wanted to move me to the hiring manager screen which I agreed. I provided some times, and then they proceeded to schedule me for 3 technical interviews instead of the hiring manager call with no explanation. I was like okay fine this works for me.
It was at this stage where this particular recruiters incompetence came into display - he was able to schedule the interviews, which another scheduler in the company was able to confirm. I took the first interview and it was fine (standard coding questions + follow ups). After the interview, I noticed that as the interview started the other two interviews got cancelled by the recruiter. I thought it was just some logistics error and that I was good. The other two interviews no one showed up due to the event being cancelled on the calendar. I reached out to the recruiter multiple times for an explanation for for clarity, but since then I've been completely ghosted.
