Interview
Stay away! I went in for what sounded like a great job and it was non existent. The only thing they care about is finding sales people that are on 100% commission.
Thank you for the review. I am confused as to why you think that you were scammed. We are seeking Customer Service Representatives who are interested in a salary of 40-45k. We do offer different pay structures as a lot of our reps have asked to be on commission. We are also a full service advertising firm, all of our services are listed on our website. We started with our "Box- Topper Program" which became a huge success and has expanded across Canada and the US. We then created other innovated marketing tools which are taking off or have taken off very quickly. Thank you for your time, all the best in your future endeavours.

Interview
I always do my research on a company before I come in for an interview and if I can offer any words of advice to those doing the same, or looking to apply to this company, it is just four simply words: DO. NOT. DO. IT. I was fooled by the very few good reviews and decided to go for it and see for myself, and I wish I didnt waste my time. I applied for the Customer Service Representative Job online, the ad outlined requirements, qualifications, benefits and an annual salary. I was invited for an interview within a few days of applying and like the person before who applied for this position (CSR) in early Sept 2015 I was too hoping to win over the VP. My first indication that something was wrong was the fact it was the VP of SALES (something I found through my own research). Upon arriving it was clear that it was an interviewing day, with many applicants in the waiting room for what I assumed was a variety of positions. After filling out a questionnaire I met with the VP of Sales. (I also want to point out that in my interview invitation email it stated thats he would be in casual attire and I should feel free to follow... he was in a suit) I quickly found myself in an interview for a commission based sales job after one question. To be clear, there was NO questions regarding the CSR position which would allow the VP to find me so quickly suitable for another position, especially since my past job experience is in CSR roles. During our conversation I was told that: I am a sales person, that I have the sales person gene(?), that I had the potential to make more money, that there was a great deal of growth inside the sales roles and was asked if I was really okay with the outlined salary in the job ad. When I said Yes, I was okay with it, I was told that I only thought that I was okay with it and only needed to make more money to see how much more I wanted????? After discussing how I am looking to grow inside a company in a more solidified role that was not sales I was asked to come back and listed in on the Regional Managers calls. (This is what they called the second interview). We all signed an acknowledgement which outlined this was not paid training and that you were volunteering your time... During this process myself and 5 other girls (who were all there earlier in the day) were brought into their call centre to listen in on different conversations, all of which were sales calls following a very detailed script. After talking to the girls we realized that not only had we all applied for the CSR job, but we were also told the EXACT SAME LINES to get us back in for the second interview in sales role positions. We also found out that no one had been told of any other pay structure other than the commission-based sale role they were pushing on all of us. That was all I needed to leave the interview process then and there, and was followed by two of the other girls. I am sure it is hard to get people to accept sale jobs that are commission based but it is totally ridiculous to use another position within the company to gain applicants!! If a person applies for a certain position and are selected for an interview process, they should be informed well in advance if they will be interviewed for another role, especially if they have given no indication of interest in commission based sales roles. This company misrepresents itself right off the bat, which was enough for me.

Interview
I walked into MARC Advertising hoping to win the VP over for a Customer Service Rep job... but little did I know I would be wasting my time on something that was not at all the position I was looking for! I don't know the company that much to judge the work environment or anything about the company.... BUT I can tell you that a company that misinterprets a job ad is not a company I personally or many others would want to be working for. I was very disappointed to find out that I was not there for a customer service rep job, but I was there to become a sales person with full commission... it truly sounded like a telemarketer position to me, which is nothing I would sign up for! Just a heads up for anyone looking at these job ads... it is not customer service they are pushing what the ad says. In my opinion it's a real shame what many businesses these days will do to make money!

Question 1
Will you be willing to come back for a 2 hour training?
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear about this confusion. We have a posting up right now that is in fact for a Customer Service position. Perhaps our hiring manager did not feel you were a fit for that position and offered you an alternative. We offer different pay structures for our Customer Service Position in which candidates are able to discuss with the hiring manager. Thank you.
