I applied online. I interviewed at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Jan 2024
Interview
There were a total of three rounds. The first two were largely to become familiar with my background, namely a few basic technical questions and some about my resume. At the actual on-site interview, the entire scheduled second half the on-site was cancelled last minute. The people I met during the first half all seemed warm and engaging. Beyond a rejection note, there was no email or apparent reason for rejection - altogether a very, VERY, dissapointing interview experience.

Do you have experience with optimization techniques?
I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MIT Lincoln Laboratory (Boston, MA) in Oct 2018
Interview
Relaxed interview on campus with staff member. Purely behavioral. He records his notes on you, then transfers that information into internal hiring pool. This is where internal teams generally hire from if a position comes up that seems to match your background.

All behavioral. i.e. tell me about a time when you had a setback.
