It was a remote Teams interview. I felt uncomfortable for two reasons:
1. I had to hold up my passport alongside my face for photographic evidence that I was who I said I was (they had warned that I would need to show something with a photo). What was unusual, and I feel invasive, was I think the interviewer was looking at my DOB, as he asked me to hold it closer to the camera, squinted, then wrote something down. It wasn't simply a name/photo check. I feel it's unprofessional and a breach of privacy. Surely a simple name/photo confirmation is enough, with further checks at the hiring stage?
2) They asked me to remove my blurred background on Teams, which I feel is unprofessional, without any warning.
3) I felt the interviewers were pushing through and didn't feel as if they were engaged. I knew early on that I wouldn't get the job as the interviewers were purely going through the motions. To be fair, they were friendly, but unengaged.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MS Society UK in May 2025
Interview
It took quite a long time to hear I'd been shortlisted, then had a week to prepare for first round which was only 30 mins (online, no intro with more info about the role or team size etc, straight into competency questions). Panel of three.
Then another week to find out I was through to round 2 (in person, test and more questions). Panel of two.
I received an automated rejection pdf letter a few days later and no replies to my request for feedback.
