I applied for the role on 25th July and had my first interview, a screening call with HR, on 30th July. My second interview was in person with two team members on 12th August, and it was a great experience getting to know the team - they were genuinely lovely.
On 17th August, I completed a two-hour writing task, which involved analysing data and writing a press release, an executive summary for a whitepaper, and a client email. After successfully passing this task, I progressed to the final interview on 4th September. Unfortunately, on 13th September, I was informed that the company had decided to close the position without making a hire. However, they provided helpful feedback, which I really appreciated.
Overall, this is a fantastic company with a positive culture and exciting projects, so missing out on the opportunity was disappointing. That said, I do feel communication could have been more consistent, as there were long gaps between interviews and I had to follow up several times without response via email. It would have also been better for them to have finalised the restructuring of the team before opening the role, given the time and effort invested by both them and the candidates throughout the process.
I hope to cross paths with them in the future!
