      Digital Marketing Specialist Interview

      3 May 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mannix Marketing

      Interview

Got through two rounds of interviews and was then ghosted. The first round consisted of a 30 min one-on-one with a manager where we reviewed a writing sample I was asked to create. Took a couple of aptitude tests and it seemed like she knew her stuff. The second round was with the same manager and the CEO. The CEO asked very oddball questions like “what were you like in high school” and “what was your high school gpa”. The second round was okay, but not amazing. I did however leave feeling like I would at least hear something back. Over the course of the next two months I emailed them three times following up, and never heard a word. Sorry, but ghosting and ignoring candidates is a no go in the professional world, no matter what. Especially after delivering a 2 page writing sample and taking tests.

      I interviewed at Mannix Marketing

      Interview

Pros: The initial recruitment phase was handled excellently by the HR team. The HR Generalist was exceptionally warm, professional, and encouraging, providing a fantastic first impression. Additionally, the COO appears to be a strong and professional leader. Cons The process becomes highly unorthodox during the final stages with senior leadership. I was asked a series of questions regarding my high school and college GPA, as well as my involvement in after-school clubs and sports ... factors that have zero bearing on my years of professional experience or ability to perform the role. During the conversation with the CEO, the tone felt skeptical and dismissive, which made for an uncomfortable candidate experience. Ultimately, despite my extensive background at much larger companies, the role was offered to a candidate with no prior experience. If you're interviewing .... you may want to review the current team profiles to understand the specific "trend" or cultural fit the company prioritizes.
