Interview
My horrific experience with ManoMano and its HR department:
First, I had an interview with somebody from HR. It was positive so that we scheduled an interview with a colleague from operations the day after.
This second interview went on very smoothly as well and I had a good impression of the company.
The day after my second phone interview, the girl from HR, I had talked to during my first interview called me, she said that they would not be any longer interested in my profile.
Now the interesting part began. The day after she called me desperately and told me that there would have been a misunderstanding. She would not have intended to give a negative response to me but to another candidate. She apologized several times and asked whether I would be interested to come to Paris for an interview. I agreed but retrospectively, I should not have done so.
We discussed a long time whether they would bear the costs for my trip to Paris or not and in the end they did, since I insisted on it. If they would not have done so, I would not have come to Paris.
I Paris I spoke with a marketing manager, the operations management team leader and the company’s COO. All three interviews went on smoothly and they seemed to me to be very interested by my profile. In total I spent three hours at their offices. Unfortunately, the HR girl who had "mistakenly" given me the negative response was not present. If yes, I would have asked her how she could even make such horrible mistake.
With a positive impression I returned home from France and I expected an offer for a contract of employment.
It took several weeks, and they did not contact me, not even by mail. Three weeks I called them in order to ask about the agreed travel allowance. Since my contact, the HR girl, permanently rejected my calls on WhatsApp, I had to call her dozens of times for about two weeks. Finally, I reached her, and she told me that the money would be transferred ASAP to my account (it took another two weeks).
Besides she did not mention by herself what has been the outcome of my interview. I had to ask her about it and she told me that they would seek for another profile. This small sentence had been her whole justification and she neither explained me their decision nor did she excuse for not having accepted my calls.
During the whole process I never felt being treated with respect (except the three hours of the personal interview). The company and in particular it HR department had never been able to manage the recruiting process professionally at any time. I think, ManoMano really has the worst HR department I have ever dealt with. Unprofessional, disrespectful and disappointing at all!
