I interviewed at Markit (Copenhagen, Capital Region)
Interview
Had a screening with a very sweet, professional person who asked me about my experience and described the company and why she joined.
The second interview was with HR and the hiring manager, and it was very odd. To be fair, the internet connection was bad, which they blamed me for. Either way, the hiring manager didn’t seem to understand my experience and was all over the place.
Mid-interview, they asked, “Why Markit, and what do you know about it?” It felt like they were just asking random questions. When it was my turn to ask questions, he once replied that he refused to answer and wanted me to answer my own question. I didn’t like that.
They said the role is for a Key Account Manager, but the title is misleading. In reality, they are looking for a Business Developer or Account Executive, as about 80% of the job is focused on new business. Usually, key account management means being responsible for the firm’s most important key accounts/clients.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Markit (Milan) in Feb 2022
Interview
The process is a straightforward three-step interview with the HR Manager, Sales Manager, and Head of Sales. It’s informal and not technical, focusing mostly on your motivation, personal values, cultural fit, and overall approach to working in a sales-driven environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
pretty generic questions for sales position about previous experience and knowledge of the job
3 rounds of interviews with representatives from different teams. Interview with the team lead, with someone from the hiring team, and with the head of the function. Interviews were great, more like chatting with a friend than being assessed. The questions were somewhat similar.

Question 1
I was asked about my previous experience, what caught my eye with Markit's job ad, and all kinds of questions that seemed to be like out of curiosity, not only to measure me.
