      Director Interview

      11 Mar 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mayzo

      Interview

Postition was posted as a Director role on linkedin. After 2.25 months of interviews, I have been ghosted! ! I was solicited by Mayzo via linked in for a Director role and to join the executive team. Salary expectations were discussed and emailed on my initial phone screening. Made it through multiple phone and face to face interviews with multiple executives, lunch with key decision maker, dinner with hiring manager and his wife along with my wife followed by yet another phone interview with a key executive. I was told I would get a call after that interview to discuss. No call after a few days and I noticed on linked in they changed the position from Director to Manager with lower salary requirements. I received no feedback as to Mayzo going a different direction. All I wanted was some sort of call or email saying they decided to go a different direction. It was very unprofessional especially after both parties invested so much time!! I received no explanation and no common courtesy. I would not recommend wasting your time with a company that cannot communicate!

This reviewer is correct that we do have an extensive recruiting process for Director-level positions, which is the highest executive level of our company. As a small growing company, we need to be quite cautious about executive hiring decisions. We invest a lot in our new hires. This reviewer had a strong resume and we gave him every opportunity to explain what he could do to help us achieve our business goals. We spent a lot of time getting to know him, and unfortunately through that process we had to conclude he was not the best fit for our company. The hiring manager directly informed the reviewer of this decision by a personal phone call (although referring back to the dates, it appears our call occurred a few days after this review was posted). The manager level posting to which the reviewer refers was an additional position, it did not replace the opening for which he applied. We share this reviewer’s disappointment that much time was spent with an unsatisfactory conclusion. However, we have confidence that each of us will find a better fit, and we wish him well in the future.
