I applied for the position and received an email from a recruiter two days later for an initial phone screen and scheduled it for the next day. The phone screen was basic and straightforward which was great. The recruiter called later that day asking if I would be available the following week for an on-site interview which I accepted. I arrived onsite about 20 minutes early to my interview and about 7 minutes later I was greeted by the hiring manager and had personal assistance to help me to the room where the interview was being held. I thought the interview went pretty well, the position was entry level and I exceeded the job qualifications. I then get a call Monday morning from the recruiter saying that I didn’t get the job and that I was still a McKesson fit so I was being considered for another position that was not posted yet but the recruiter failed to tell me what the position was (which I found kind of fishy). She proceeded and scheduled me for an interview with the hiring manager of this mystery job. When I received the interview confirmation, the job title was not listed so I asked the recruiter what the job title was and it was for an associate sales assistant which was far lower than the job I initially applied for and didn’t get. I turned down the interview because I’m not a sales person, never have been and have no interest being one any time soon. Although this company boasts diversity and inclusion, I don’t believe my experience and education was the only factor in their decision. I felt the verdict was based on my physical condition(just using a cane but can walk). Other than that the process was fairly quick and pleasant.
