Overall, the interview process at McMakler was average and relaxed. It consisted of four stages:
- Initial HR Interview
The first step was a casual conversation with an HR representative. This was a light and friendly chat aimed at understanding my background, expectations, and fit for the company culture.
- Technical Experience and Mindset
Next, I spoke with the Hiring Manager, who focused on my technical experience and problem-solving mindset. The discussion revolved around my previous projects and how I approach some common challenges.
- Another Tech Interview
In the third stage, I had a technical discussion with one of the Senior Engineers, which focused on the specific programming language I would be working with. The questions were clear and reasonable, touching on both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
- Final Interview with EM
The final stage involved a live coding challenge with one of the Engineering Managers (EMs). It was straightforward and designed to test problem-solving skills rather than trip you up with overly tricky scenarios.
In general it was without stress and went very smooth.
