I received an email from "Mercy Morgan" stating that she would like to set up a time for an interview with me. She advised that I download Ring Central for our interview. Once it was time, she mentioned that the interview would be solely through chat for record purposes. I thought it was strange at first, but agreed to the terms. The following day, I was offered the job and was asked to sign the offer letter immediately. Thinking it was also strange, I noticed that my pay was different than what her initial welcome letter said, so I asked if it would be warranted. When I received the 2nd offer letter, it was addressed to someone else, and I had her change it again so that it would be addressed to me. It took her 24-hours to respond, and it finally came back to me, only this time, it almost had my name right, it was just missing a letter. Flustered, but wanting to be a good candidate, I signed the offer letter, and then I was advised to do an assessment. After completion, I was told I would receive a UPS tracking number for equipment to be sent the following week. I had questions about benefits, but she never responded. I started having doubts, until the following week, Mercy sent me a message saying that I would be receiving a check in the morning for setting up my office. Sure enough, UPS rang my doorbell and I received the envelope. The sender on it was from a deceased man in CHICAGO (mind you, this is a TN company). In addition, the check was from Somerville Housing Authority based out of MA, and the company had nothing to do with Medelis. I contacted the FBI and FTC about the scam and advised that I reported "Mercy" to the bureau.
