      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Meltwater (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Aug 2013

      Interview

I applied for the International Management Trainee position online, hoping to get into management. However, after I researched the internet and found that there is antimeltwater website I became sceptic and realized that I did not apply for a management position but for a cold calling one. Nowhere in the advert was that mentioned and I think it was quite deceptive. Anyway, I received an e-mail from Meltwater right away to schedule a phone interview. I already knew I wasn't accepting anything from that company, but scheduled an interview just to expose them and question them on their deceptive add. The phone interview was pathetic. It was at 17.30, which was strange as all my interviews have been earlier. The interview was literally 3 minutes. 3 minutes!?!? double checked to phone to be sure.. By the way, I was thinking to expose them at the end when I would ask questions, but finally did not get the chance. During the 3 minutes I am confident that I interviewed great, as I talked about my previous experience in B2B sales (which I wasn't going to do again), where I also tripled the sales of a company by finding new customers abroad! The interviewer was definitely in a hurry and at the end I did not have a chance to ask questions as she hung up very fast after thanking me for my time. So, they liked my application (as they invited me for phone interview), did great on the "phone interview", but guess what - they did not reply me. When I finally wrote to them a month later, they said I was not selected. It was definitely a waste of time to prepare for the interview.

      Question 1

      Why sales?
      Answer question
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meltwater (Amsterdam)

      Interview

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Noem 10 bekende Nederlandse multinationals. Wat weet je over de structuur van Meltwater? Waarom ben jij een geschikte manager? Noem een moeilijke situatie waarin je je bevond en hoe je hierin handelde.
