      I interviewed at MemorialCare

      Interview

I applied online and received a phone call from an internal recruiter a few days later. We spoke about the company and salary expectations. The following week, I participated in a 1-hour interview via video with the hiring authority. This went well, and I was invited to an on-site interview a couple of weeks later (I was an out-of-town candidate, and they flew me out the day before my interviews). The interviews on-site consisted of 2 panels and a 1:1 with the hiring authority (one scheduled for an hour with 4 individuals that would be either a peer or stakeholder in their hierarchy, and the second panel interview that would have been my subordinates' “meet-the-team” style interview). It was obvious during the 2nd interview with subordinates that I was competing against potential internal candidates. This type of interview often results in one or more individuals providing reasons to vote against a candidate during the debrief. Following the meet-the-team interview, I was placed in a vacant office before my final interview with the hiring authority. It was during this time that one of my potential subordinates gave me a “navigation center” tour that lasted all of 5 minutes. It was obvious she was ready to check out for the day and was competing with me for the open role. Finally, I met with the hiring authority, where the meeting scheduled for an hour lasted all of 30 minutes, and I could tell from her demeanor that I was not going to receive an offer. Afterwards, I took an Uber back to my hotel and flew back home the following day. After all of this time commitment (from all parties involved), I never received feedback or even a “thanks but no thanks” follow-up from anyone. Very unprofessional!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They sent me an email 1 week before my on-site with instructions to complete a leadership assessment online. I completed this task in an hour, but it would have been nice if they had notified me earlier that this was part of the process.
