I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Metropolitan Library System (Oklahoma) (Oklahoma City, OK) in May 2019
Interview
Have interviewed for this position 5 times but never got the job.The interviews are the same at every library. They always give the same five questions and there is very little interaction or feedback. You will get silence or receive a rejection letter a month after you interviewed. Having an MLIS seems like a non factor. The job is supposedly open to those without a ninth grade education, but it is a behavioral interview, so even if you've done a job, you are screwed unless you have "hero stories" and if you did a job well but never "saved the day," you are screwed. Hate behavioral interviews as they are discriminatory against those with communication disabilities. At the end, you get a cart test to show off your sorting skills. Doing well means jack squat as I've excelled at that part yet never got the job. What matters is having job experience that involves people skills so archival experience is worthless if your background is in archives.

They do the CAR method. they expect you to be able to respond with the cause, the action you took, and the results. They typically do not do follow up questions because they believe that gives a person an unfair advantage.

The regional director who was on the panel was definitely not aware of their facial expressions. They were making rude faces and curt. I was asked 8-10 questions, received the questions before hand.
