I applied online. I interviewed at Micro1 in Jun 2026
Interview
Interviewed for: Senior Backend Node.js Developer
The interview process was technically focused and covered topics relevant to a senior backend role. Most of the discussion included:
- System design
- Database concepts and optimization
- Backend architecture and scalability
- Node.js backend development
- One DSA question based on arrays at the end
The interview itself was professional, and the questions were appropriate for the position.
What surprised me was that I received a rejection email almost immediately after the interview concluded.
Afterward, I searched for information about the company on LinkedIn and Reddit and also spoke with other candidates. I found multiple reports from people describing similar experiences, including frequent job postings, interviews without apparent hiring outcomes, and concerns that the company may be collecting interview data rather than actively filling positions. I also noticed that the company posts a large number of openings on a regular basis.
I cannot independently verify these claims, but based on my personal experience and the consistent feedback I found from other candidates, I would encourage applicants to do their own research before investing significant time in the interview process.
One final point: out of curiosity, I applied for the same position again sometime later—and was invited for another interview. Considering I had already completed the full interview process and received a rejection almost immediately, that was quite surprising and made the overall process even more difficult to understand.
