I had a fantastic interview experience. While it involved 4 virtual interviews total with 5 different senior people, it was still one of the best interview experiences I’ve ever had. I did not have an interview with HR.
Rather than grilling me with standard interview questions or trying to trap me with questions about my greatest weaknesses or other challenging behavioral questions, we had an open and honest conversation. I was able to ask as many questions as I liked, and the approach was more about how I could help them solve their problems rather than a formal evaluation of every one of my past jobs. The culture fit felt natural and they were respectful of my time.
The interview process was longer than I expected with the number of rounds, but it’s not unusual for companies to do 4+ rounds these days and I was never left wondering between interviews if I was moving on to the next round. The overall process moved quickly (a couple weeks with two interviews a week) and I received the offer within days of the final interview.
There was also no take home project which I had to do at other companies that can require a lot of unpaid time and free advice for a position you might not even get. I did have to do a few quick assessments through Indeed when applying, before the interviews.
Overall they were respectful and open throughout the process and I felt confident by the end it would be a good fit.
