I’m so sorry to hear that our selection process impacted you this way. The original job posting did include the salary range, but nevertheless, we were both excited to explore a potential fit. I tried to meet your income needs, but finally decided that if the firm were to stretch outside that original hiring strategy, your impressive educational background needed to be paired with more work experience.
We aim to take ownership of and be accountable for our actions. In an effort to improve the subsequent search, we hired an independent equity-focused HR firm to manage and help us imbed best practices, equity, and inclusion in our selection processes. I also continue to receive coaching so I can grow as a leader.
