I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Montefiore Medical (Yonkers, NY) in Aug 2016
Interview
HR contact, telephone interview {additional rounds F2F}
Initial HR interview was outstanding.
Hiring manager interview was scripted, not conversational, lack of connection; did not give an initial overview of the organization; seemed more tactical than strategic focused. Interviewer wanted to know more about candidate background, which was great, but there was a lack of clarity to determine where position would make the greatest impact. Did not give overview of types of projects one would be assigned, what the culture, environment was like - except that many groups do not collaborate, which is the hardest challenge in the PM space. Interviewer seemed a bit stressed or overwhelmed while talking about it, also very pressed for time. Did not feel interviewer took a keen interest, except poking at why landed in different industries, as if project management is not transferrable skill.
Be a bit more open minded - you never know what kind of gem lurks behind the resume. First impressions are important.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about you
How do you manage cost
Why do you want to work here {sigh, probably one of the worst questions to ask an interviewee}
