Job title didn't match the role, where they're looking for someone that can do 3 roles with an unrealistically low budget. Only to find out during the 2nd stage when asked to do the SQL test where red-flags begin to start appearing.
- The interviewer for the SQL test wasn't focused on the core responsibilities of the role, but whether you can regurgitate how to properly ingest data step-by-step
- No part of the SQL stage focused on critical thinking, or add any discussions on what to look out for but whether you can write code "correctly" (Not in the way of understanding how I approach a problem whilst writing code but whether I can literally write code)
Of these two points, it made clear on how mature their data infrastructure is at, and this is not the right fit for me.
Furthermore, as much as interviews are to sell myself as a potential candidate, the interviewer definitely didn't show any appreciation/consideration that these interviews are also a time for them to promote the role and culture that makes me want to work with them (a two-way conversation, so to speak)
