UX Hires is a recruiting /staffing company for UX designers and researchers in NYC. The interviewer was deceitful and arrogant. Even though I expressed little interest in contract roles, he kept emailing me, then when I agreed to a phone interview with him and mentioned that my qualifications didn't match the contract job's requirements he insisted otherwise (75% of candidates aren't good matches, he claimed which I don't believe, not for UX Research roles, a cut-throat competitive field). The worst and deceitful part was that he insisted I tell him my exact salary from one of my previous jobs, 3 yrs ago, at a company that is a direct competitor to the one UXHires contracts for. He kept asking "how much did you make at [X} company"? when I insisted I didn't remember the exact amount he became rude and ended the interview in less than a minute. If he was genuinely busy, he wouldnt have repeated his salary question, neither would he have spent 5mins trying to convince me that my qualifications were good enough (%75 is NOT good enough to land a ux research job anywhere, let alone in NYC!). To get rid of his emails, which kept coming back as he mass emailed those of us who made the mistake of signing up at UXHires, I blocked his email address and will never speak to ANYBODY at UXhires again. My interview was not a contract opportunity for him, rather, an opportunity to obtain information on salary from a major competitor through me (former employee). That' unethical and should be illegal.
