      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      15 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Moveworks (New York, NY) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Really odd, 7+ hour total process, even though the recruiter originally told me 6. Lots of interviewers showing up looking unprepared/unorganized/disengaged. Very little feedback or signals until I had completed the entire process, then received no hire decision. Think twice before wasting your time here.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      17 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Moveworks in May 2025

      Interview

I had a disappointing experience with Moveworks' interview process, particularly with the recruiting and coordination team. The technical portion was rigorous and well-structured. I completed two phone screens (one coding and one system design), followed by an 8-round onsite loop including demo, additional coding and system design interviews, hiring manager discussions, and leadership rounds. While I appreciated the technical depth, the process was long and taxing, over 6 hours of onsite time alone. Unfortunately, communication from the recruiting team was poor and disorganized. Even before the onsite, responses were delayed. After completing the final round, I followed up multiple times over the next three weeks, emailing several recruiters, yet received no response. Eventually, after reaching out to a Moveworks employee to get in touch with recruiting, a recruiter replied and claimed the decision had been recorded in their internal portal and that I should have received it. That felt like a disappointing excuse after weeks of silence. Even if there had been an issue with automated emails, there was ample opportunity for the recruiting team to respond to my repeated follow-ups. When a candidate invests significant time and effort into your process, the bare minimum is to offer timely closure and respectful communication. A lack of transparency and follow-through reflects poorly on the candidate experience, regardless of the company’s technical bar.
