      Communications Coordinator Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Multnomah County (Portland, OR) in Dec 2025

      Interview

A lengthy interview process that ultimately ended without closure. I applied in early October and was contacted toward the end of the month for a phone screen with the recruiter. The subsequent rounds — including a panel interview, work sample exercise, and hiring interview — moved fairly quickly. My main gripe is that I made it to the final round and then did not receive any follow-up communication, despite checking in with the recruiter. I was initially given a date when candidates would receive an update, but when that date passed, I did not receive further communication. I liked everyone I met, and the first three rounds were positive experiences. However, I was ultimately disappointed by the lack of communication and courtesy after such a time-intensive interview process. My advice is to only engage in the interview process if it’s a dream job. Otherwise, in my opinion, their processes are just too time-consuming and cumbersome to be worth it.
