I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Munchkin (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2025
Interview
They were generally unclear on role responsibilities and had a highly subjective process with creative leadership. Was grilled on management skills and scale of management experience despite it being a an associate role. VP of creative seemed immediately threatened for unknown reasons. VP of creative has multiple hats and extremely hands on, internal partners appeared to be insecure on camera. Mid interview, the VP changed the role being interviewed for to a senior designer which was honestly a joke considering the context. Ended up retracting my application due to the experience. Super unprofessional.
Phone interview, excel test (formulas + accounting questions), and then an in person interview. Straightforward interview process and the interview was nice. Job posting was misleading (red flag) because the position wasn't remote and their "hybrid" environment was not flexible.

Question 1
What do you know about the company?
Question about a journal entry.
The process moved quickly - they had me interview with two designers from the team, and I heard back the next morning with an offer to join them for the upcoming term. They asked for a response within 48 hours.
