Interview
I placed my resume into the postbac pool, and I was contacted by the lab with information regarding their projects and collaborations. They scheduled a phone interview shortly afterwards. The phone interview was with 5 members from the lab. I was then contacted two weeks after the interview being told I received the position and the next steps which include a background check.

Interview
Depends on the lab you're interviewing with, but most do an initial interview with the current IRTA of the lab before passing you on. Some do entire super-days of interviews,
Once you are able to secure an interview through emailing, the processes proceeds quickly and clearly. It might be hard to get started but once you get going the process moves fast.

They emphasize a lot of questions about what you want to do in the future and how this position would fit in that. It is an educational position.

I met with a PI and discussed their research goals as well as my own goals for the experience. I learned a lot about the program, its benefits, and the kind of work I would be looking forward to.
