Autonomous Controls Engineer - Path/Motion Planning Interview

      6 Jul 2017
      Anonymous employee
      San Jose, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NIO (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2017

      Interview

Upon directly contacting an engineer out of personal interest, I was put in touch with Geno, one of the recruiters. He and the rest of the HR and engineering staff were remarkably responsive to my existing offer deadline and travel plans. The NIO team went out of their way to extend a pre-arranged one-day trip to Silicon Valley in order to accommodate my other offer's deadline. Within a week and a half, I had two phone interviews and an on-site interview at the US headquarters in San Jose, CA. The on-site interview involved five 45-minute sessions with members of my prospective team. Everyone I met was a pleasure to interact with. This matched with the company's ambitious goals, solid leadership and a competitive offer made joining NIO a clear win.
