First step was a phone screening process to assess skills and experience. After successfully completing the phone screen, I was referred to hiring manager for an interview. I was told by the phone screener that I could expect to hear from the hiring manager within a week to schedule an in-person interview. A week later, I received a generic email that the position had been filled. I followed up with the phone screener for feedback as to why I was not offered an in-person interview; after all, I had the experience and our initial call seemed to go really well. She said the hiring manager had filled the position last week, on/around the day I had my phone screening. This showed poor communication within the company, at the very least. I found the experience with this employer to be very unprofessional at this point. A waste of my valuable time. I will not look at the National Youth Advocate Program for employment opportunities in the future. This was for the Wheeling WV location.
