I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nationwide
Interview
Applied online for the job. I received an email later to schedule an interview. Set up a date during the week. Mine was in the afternoon at the regional claims office. I was interviewed by two claims managers. Started out with introductions. They alternated asking a series of questions, writing down as much as they could. They then answered any questions I had and gave me a tour of the building.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nationwide (Des Moines, IA) in Jan 2014
Interview
I attended a power hiring event. I first met with a manager who asked a lot of behavioral questions. I was then brought into a holding room where I could talk with current employees. Next, I met with the claims associate director. From there, I was given an offer!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you turned an angry customer into a happy customer.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nationwide in Jan 2011
Interview
I applied online then received an e-mail requesting I fill out an a separate questionnaire. A week after I sent that in, I was scheduled for a phone conference interview. Right before the interview, I received an offer for a very similiar trainee position from a competitor. When they brought up salary during the interview I told them about my other offer and how much it was. Nationwide was only going to offer 30k so the interview didn't last long.
I appreciated that they brought up the salary almost immediatly in the interview. They admitted that their starting salaries are some of the lowest in the industry. I would think that would make recruiting difficult.

Question 1
What were some of the things that you did to prepare for this interview? (I thought this was a strange question)
