Among the interviews I had attended in the past, this must be the worst interview experience for me. My resume with confidential information such as the history of my earning records was passed around from the HR officer to the Receptionist, and finally to the Hiring Manager. P&C information was discussed in the "open area" with company staff walking around. I was told to wait in a small interview room for over 25 minutes (with the air-conditioning switched off) before the hiring manager came. No apologies for coming late and within the first 15 minutes into the interview, I was asked questions which were illegal and irrelevant to the position I applied for (contravene the guidelines under TAFEP). Despite feeling uneasy, I answered all of these questions before the hiring manager told me "Sorry but we are looking for someone with related experience in the F&B industry." I wasted my time and effort to attend this interview, only to be told that I lacked the F&B experience for the position.
