I applied online. I interviewed at NetBrain Technologies in Dec 2020
Interview
I applied for the network engineer intern position. Received an email from Senior talent acquisition partner, the very next day for a quick call. Basically we had a conversation on my resume, cleared it. Following week received an email regarding the availability for interview with the Hiring Manager. Hiring manager's had a very thick accent still managed to acknowledge the questions. He did ask a lot of questions on basic CCNA like STP, Port numbers, NAT, TCP, UDP, VXLAN, comfort level with EVE-ng software environment, different networking scenarios and experience with cloud . I did answer all questions correctly and was pretty confident waiting for the next round. After that, there was no follow up from them. Next week, I did email the senior talent acquisition partner for a status update, to which I received a generic email stating that my software development skills are impressive, but they are moving forward with other candidates for this position.
How can someone who did go through two interview rounds for a network engineer intern position can receive such an email and be rejected for software development skills. The job role mentioned about creating, testing and building in new uses cases and technologies to help prospects understand the value of Netbrain. Not scripting the existing application to improve it. Highly unprofessional behavior.
