Spoke with head of perioperative services who was street-smart but still had compassion. I've never had a more realistic or pleasant interview. Honest about workload, paperwork, staffing, and culture of hospital. There was a simple skills test (math), and a physical was required. After hiring, the hospital orientation was painfully boring as usual, but orientation to the unit was tailored to my needs and perfect. Staff was welcoming and helpful.
