My interview experience with Newrez was frustrating and unprofessional from start to finish. The recruiter missed our initial scheduled interview without any notice or follow-up. I had no contact information, so I had to dig through a prior connection just to find the recruiter's email and get in touch.
I had rescheduled, but then I was told she couldn’t make the new time either so then I set a third date, which she confirmed she was available. On the day of the interview, the recruiter again didn’t show up. I received an email saying she was out of office and would call me that afternoon. That call never came.
Once again, I had to reach out to the first recruiter I had a contact with at the company just to get a response. When the recruiter I've been trying to interview with finally replied, she thanked me for my persistence and said they were “evaluating applicants and the direction of the role” and would follow up with next steps. That was over a week ago, and I haven’t heard anything since from the recruiter but an automated rejection email at 12AM.
This process required constant follow-up on my part, with no accountability or clear communication from theirs. A company’s interview process should reflect its professionalism and unfortunately, this one did. I hope Newrez takes steps to treat candidates with more respect and transparency in the future.
