Applied online and was contacted by an internal recruiter for a 30-minute phone screen. The call covered my background and experience in detail -- I felt the conversation went well and the recruiter seemed receptive. A couple of weeks later, I received a rejection email citing "not enough interconnection experience" as the reason for not moving forward, despite interconnection being one of the primary job duties in my 5+ years in the solar industry. This was confusing given that the requirements of the role were basically a 1:1 match with my resume, which was the primary reason I applied to the role (and presumably the reason they reached out for an initial conversation in the first place). The rejection did not appear to be a straightforward decision internally, which raises questions about how aligned their hiring teams are. I was never given the opportunity to speak with anyone on the actual technical team.
