Interview
I applied online, and received a call about a week later. I had a phone interview with the HR manager, and was then brought in for an in person interview. I interviewed with the Accounting manager & the VP of Operation. They were both very friendly, and made the interview fun. I left with a big smile on my face hoping to get a call back. About a week later I did, and the rest is history.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Next Day Plus (Orland Park, IL) in Jul 2018
Interview
I applied through a job search website. I was called rather quickly by the VP of Operations (within a few days time). She explained she was impressed with my resume but I didn't quite have the years of experience but she said they would love to meet with me and we setup a date/time over the phone. She stated she would email me a confirmation. I didn't receive it for a few hours. I should have known, things were going to go down hill from there. I called her back and she apologetically sent me the email confirmation shortly there after. The day of the interview I showed up 20 minutes early, checked in with the receptionist, and sat down in the lobby. I then proceeded to wait for almost an hour before being called back. Also, as I was called back to my interview, the previous candidate was walking out of the room. Very unprofessional! The Recruiters/HR professionals I spoke with seemed exhausted, irritable, and clock watching (as it was almost lunchtime by this point). They actually made me wait additional time in the interview room, while they got water/used the restroom (I'm guessing). So about 90 minutes now since I walked through the front door, I finally got to have my interview with the 2 Recruiters/HR professionals from the company. This is how they started, "tell us why you want this role?" No introduction to the company, nothing about the benefits of working for the company, not even their names/job titles. They just started asking me questions. At one point I stopped both of them and asked simply about the company since the website didn't explain much about purpose, culture, etc. The female interviewer scoffed and insulted me for not being smart enough to figure it out on my own. She then mentioned to her counterpart that they may need a better website if that is the case. She then proceeded to give me very little detail about the company like it was some trade secret to let me know if they offered any sort of benefit package. I was happy when the interview was over. I felt like I was used as a "filler" in their interview process.
