Recruiter screen run by the CTO strangely. Short coding and system design interview. A recruiter screen run by a recruiter. Another system design followed by two parts of a coding technical followed by a presentation. Then a low-level technical behavioral with product. Then another talk with the CTO. NDA signed, so cannot discuss topics.
Surprisingly good process and the second group of technicals were surprisingly two-way. I’ve gotten too used to the fake pair programming technicals that are almost completely one-sided. Also, all interviewers were great.
Feedback is provided often. However, the rejection feedback implied my technical was not good. Why bother wasting the CTO’s time twice and passing me at every technical step then?
While I wouldn’t consider the company itself a red flag, they don’t seem to know what they are hiring for and they take a nod-and-smile approach which could indicate a culture of opaqueness. I would have rather been rejected early instead of passed on if my technical was truly not good enough.
