I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Nucor (Charleston, SC) in May 2026
Interview
Was way overqualified for this role, but was interested in the position. Put me through 5 rounds of interviews, a behavioral survey, and a math exam all for extremely low pay. Sounded like I would get the role then they said they wouldn’t move me forward and would not explain why or tell the recruiter why they wouldn’t move me forward.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Nucor (Cincinnati, OH) in Mar 2026
Interview
Phone Screen, Personality/IQ Test. Panel Interview.
The process took 3 months. This is the 2nd time I have interviewed with Nucor. Recruiters have a hard time getting back to you. I have had to send reminders every 7-10 days because they would just go silent. It is hard for them to put together a panel because everyone is constantly on the road.
My advice is that if you are interviewing at other places and are expecting and offer soon you NEED to tell the recruiter, or else you can expect to sit there for weeks denying job offers hoping this one works out.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They are going to ask you about Workplace Safety, why is it important to you, do you have examples?
I had a positive interview experience, even though I wasn’t selected. appreciated the process, even though it took longer than expected. Most of the interview focused on safety and behavior‑based questions
