Awful. the man interviewing me asked whether I was single and my age. His motives could have been was sexual harassment, discrimination or both. When I baulked he told me his age (67) and he told me his role in the company was as the company hype man. I was told it would be a regular occurrence that you could go home after 10pm but that they'd pay for dinner and a taxi. At the time the graphic design job was low paid.
He didn't even look at my portfolio and the female graphic designer there who was also interviewing me didn't call him out or say anything about this weird behaviour.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Oktra Ltd (Holborn, England) in Oct 2016
Interview
This was easily the worst interview I have ever experienced. I was interviewed by a young woman from the design team and an older man who described himself as the company's hype man. He wouldn't let me present my portfolio and wanted to see if I was a good fit for the company culture.
His questions included: "Are you single?" & "How old are you?". This made me think that I was being profiled to see if I was likely to take maternity leave. I was asked several times to smile because it made me look prettier. The fact that he felt comfortable saying those things and that the female interviewer made no objection to them made it seem like this sort of sexist intimidation was common place at Oktra.
