The recruitment process was extremely disappointing. Despite completing three interviews and making every effort to remain flexible and accommodating, communication was consistently poor throughout.
I was told on multiple occasions that I would be contacted, but this did not happen. There were no clear updates on timelines, no meaningful follow-up, and no reassurance at any stage of the process. After investing a significant amount of time, I was not formally informed of the outcome, nor was any feedback provided, despite requesting it.
There was also an expectation to be available at very short notice, which I accommodated. However, this level of responsiveness was not reciprocated, as follow-up messages went unanswered and no acknowledgement was given.
In my experience, this appears to be an issue specific to the recruitment function, particularly the handling of my application by the Senior Recruiter, Glenn Johnson. The lack of communication and professionalism in this regard was particularly concerning.
Overall, I did not feel respected as a candidate. If this is reflective of internal processes, it raises serious concerns about the organisation’s professionalism and communication standards.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OnTheMarket in Jan 2024
Interview
The process was quick. First it was a call with the recruiter, then 2 days later a call with the line manager, and a week later an in person interview with 2 other people. Unfortunately I was not offered the role as they believed I was over qualified. Seems like a great place to work though.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at OnTheMarket (London, England) in Nov 2022
Interview
Failed the interview process due to being MYSELF. Applying for a simple role of Telesales Agent sourced via a very kind recruitment consultant. I was extremely confidence with the job profile with 8 Years experience within the property sector, I understood the expectations of the Job role and cared to understand the expectations of the hiring manager. Feedback received from was I failed the Stage 1, as I had "Shown my muscles on screen" after being questioned about my personal interests which I had replied "Going to the gym.." flowing with the conversation and in response to "are you one of them gym enthusiastic" Which I replied with displaying my arms on the screen. This is seen as a negative trait by the hiring manager, I thank the lord I did not end up working under the hiring manager if the flow of our conversation led to this, yet you found it reasonable enough to disregard my capability.... Questionable.
