      Content Editor Interview

      2 Feb 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Walnut Creek, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at One Planet Group (Walnut Creek, CA) in Dec 2022

      Interview

I went through four rounds of interviews. The first was a phone screen, the second an assignment, third was in-person, and fourth was a video interview with an executive. Things moved very quickly, but I could tell right off the bat that there's a culture of overwork here. Case in point: I was not told they would be giving me an assignment with a 24 hour turn-around time. It normally would have been fine, except the assignment was extremely time-consuming (took multiple hours), and they gave it to me on the evening of December 30th--a holiday. On the day of my in-person interview, the Bay Area was experiencing an atmospheric river. It was hailing and flooding like crazy, and there was even an emergency stay-in-place warning due to dangerous weather, but they still confirmed with me that they needed me to come in, no exceptions. I got stuck in flooding for an hour because of this. After four rounds, I reached out to them after a couple weeks of silence, and only then did they curtly respond with a rejection. I can't speak to what the company is like internally, only my limited experience. Do with it what you will!
