      Associate Software Engineer Interview

      28 Oct 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at OneStudyTeam

      Interview

1st - Screening interview with a recruiter, 2nd - Screening interview with Engineering Director. Similiar to the first, discussing past experience, behavioural questions and technical questions. 3rd - Technical (Coding) Assessment. You have the choice of taking a Backend developer asssessment or a Front end developer question. 4th - Technical (Non-Coding) Interview - Similiar to 2, but more specific questions. The interviewers are assessing your general abilities as a software. Cultural fit is quite important to the company and will largely be assessed at this round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Create a backend to process requests for an existing front end. This largely involved writing endpoints and doing some logic on passed data. You have the freedom to use whatever technology stack you are most familiar with.

      Associate Software Engineer Interview

      14 Jan 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OneStudyTeam (Boston, MA) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Process was: * Initial screening call with the Technical Recruiter. This involved a discussion about my background, experience, career goals, salary expetations etc. * Technical discussion with an Engineering Director. This similarly followed on from my background & experierence. This also included included very brief and high level systems design interview question. * A back to back Coding Interview question followed by a technical discussion with two senior / staff engineers. a) The coding interview was the best coding interview I've done to date. You had the choice between doing a backend interview or a front end interview (decided in advance). I opted for the back end interview question. There was a pre-existing front end, and you had to write a service (in a language + framework of your choice) which could handle the requests of the front end. We used a tool called ngrok to expose a locally running web-server to external users through an ngrok link. b) The technical discussion involved behavioural questions about situations in my past experiences and some technical questions about e.g. testing. * Following all of this, there was a discussion with the manager. At this stage I was told to expect an offer and that they had identified a team placement for me. The discussion with manager was a chance for me to learn about e.g. the career level structure and what the focus of the team is and what business objectives we aim to solve.

      Question 1

How should one approach software testing.
