It is a typical Ontario Public Service interview. They attempt to be scientific. All questions are asked by a panel of 2 to 3 managers, they write down your answers as you go (which can be very off-putting), and then you are scored based on their planned metric for key words, etc. You can prepare memorised answers based on the wording of the job description in the ad, and there is no expectation that the interview will flow like a regular conversation. They don't have to like you at all; you just need to get more points. There will be words in the ad that are key to the points systems, to use them as many times as you can in your answers. They won't ask you directly what your experience has been, so you have to work it in to your answers so they can write it down and count it. They don't have your resume and they can't count anything unless you say it. So you have to say "In my 4 years as head bee-keeper" or whatever. This is true even if they know you and you're an internal candidate, if you don't say "I have been working for 10 years at the OMDC" you get no points for having worked at the OMDC. There is the spoken component, usually 6 experiential questions, then a written portion in a private room where you have to write something in 30 minutes.
