Title: A respectful, well-run hiring process and a genuinely warm community
Pros:
I interviewed for an admissions role at Open Window School, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The process was refreshingly short and clear. Every step was well organized, I always knew what was coming next, and the timeline moved at a pace that respected my time as a candidate.
Communication was a real strength. The team kept in touch throughout, responded quickly, and was thoughtful and personable at every turn. The in-person visit was a highlight: I got to tour the campus, meet a range of people, and spend real time with the community, which gave me an honest feel for the culture.
What stood out most was the warmth of the people. Everyone I met, including the Head of School, was kind, engaged, and genuinely welcoming. Even when I was not selected, the team communicated the decision personally and graciously, which says a lot about how they treat people. That kind of respect for candidates is rare, and it speaks to the character of the school.
Cons:
Honestly, very little. My background was in a different sector, so the role was not the right fit in the end, but that was a reasonable call on their part. I have no complaints about how I was treated or how the process was run.
Advice to Management:
Keep doing what you are doing. Your hiring process is clear, humane, and well communicated, and your people are a credit to the school. Candidates notice when an organization treats them with this much care.
