I participated in an initial phone interview with the hiring manager and his counterpart in the EHR support group. The phone interview was scheduled for 1 week out. The hiring manager was prompt but the support manager was only on the first 15 minutes of the interview as she had another meeting scheduled. The hiring manager didn't seem particularly prepared. While my resume reflected my experience in both implementation and post-implementation support of EHRs, the hiring manager kept asking about my implementation experience. The feedback I got from the in-house recruiter afterward was that the hiring manager didn't feel I had enough experience in post-implementation support. As I understand it, the next step would be a face-to-face interview.
