I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Optiver (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2026
Interview
Recruiter reached out, then a 2-3 hour OA. After that was a 1 hour technical interview to design a queue using a circular buffer. Final round was 2 1 hour technicals. One was leetcode that was medium difficulty but more coding/ design based than leetcode normally is. Second was a system design interview that was exchange related and pretty chill. Heard they hire to fire (50%!) so glad I didn't get it.
I applied online. I interviewed at Optiver (Austin, TX) in Nov 2025
Interview
Got OA and included 2 large coding questions and then some brain games then some coding trivia revolving around coding knowledge and data structures. Sort of difficult and did not make it past this round.

Question 1
They asked about some system design coding question and the Zap-N test which comprises a series of mini-games designed to evaluate cognitive abilities such as memory, multitasking, and decision-making.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Optiver in Nov 2025
Interview
It was very collaborative in that they started off by asking me to say what I knew about a data structure and then I basically had to implement one. I would look at Design tagged questions on LeetCode, and make sure you understand how things work under the hood.
